Duplex Printing - Windows Vista


How to Enable Duplex Functionality on a DUnet Printer

You only need to do the following once for each duplex printer you want to use. If you have already set the Duplex Unit parameter for the printer, skip to the How to Control Duplex Printing section.

(Note: You may receive a slightly different set of prompts than what are listed in these instructions if you have User Access Control (UAC) disabled.)
  1. Click the Start button.
  2. Select Control Panel.
  3. On the left, click the option for Classic View.
  4. Double-click the Printers icon on the right.
  5. Right-click on one of the duplex printers you want to use.
  6. Select Properties.
  7. Click the Device Settings tab.
  8. Scroll down to the Duplex Unit (for 2-Sided Printing) option.
  9. Set the value to Installed.

  11. Click the OK button.
  12. If you get a warning screen about Incompatible Print Settings,
    • Select Resolve all conflicts for me automatically.
    • Click the OK button.
  13. Click the OK button.



How to Control Duplex Printing

  1. Open the document you want to print.
  2. Do NOT click the print button on the toolbar.
  3. Go to the File menu.
  4. Select Print....

  5. Select the duplex printer you want to print to.
  6. Click the Properties or Preferences button.
  7. Click the Finishing tab.
  8. Find the Print On Both Sides check box,
    • For single-sided printing, uncheck the box.
    • For double-sided printing, check the box.

  10. Find the Flip Pages Up check box just below the Print On Both Sides check box,
    • For landscape or sideways printing: Add a check.
    • For portrait or upright printing: Clear the check.
    • As you check and uncheck the box, the picture to the right will show the effect of your selection.
  11. Click the OK button.
